LOL, the guy with the slowest bike on the site gets a speeding ticket.

Can you show evidence that it is restricted.......and not a Super Spinney Superlight version?

defiantly restricted , states max speed on a plate on frame

engine has a govener , and it works , pedels , not a chance , you cannot use emm over about 8mph , they just spin (its a basic single speed free wheel thing)

id I am found guilty , honda will have to recall the other 3 that are on the road , fit brake lights and mileage record thing in speedo

its 1.8 bhp , and thats when it was new

"and not a Super Spinney Superlight version?" , umm no its 56kg I think

8 cans of beer in my backpack and it stops , going up hills

Take it to a Dyno rolling road to get the power measured. It would give the blokes a laugh at the minimum.

I suspect there would not be enough power to get the roller moving , nearest place is about 40 miles away , I will pack sandwiches and flasks and set off early in the morning

I would definitely defy that I was speeding.

However, old speedos are inaccurate and IF you are found guilty and try to mention the speedo then you can also be done for having a faulty speedo.

Or remove the turbo and superchargers that you have nailed on

non fitted , the carb is about 13-15mm , the exaust is the same

there is no way on earth that a 4t 1,8 bhp restricted to 25mph can get to 34mph , the engine is in back wheel , you cannot alter gearing at all , there is a clever govener (it works) that f!$%s about with ign timing and retards / restricts revs

ps , because of max speed a speedo is not a legal requirement , the one fitted just records speed , not mleage

And you are correct about not actually needing a speedo on a moped, but you could still speed

It will be up to you to prove these things.
I daresay expensive too.

But be defiant that your bike definitely cannot speed.............allegedly.

Personally I would reply to the NIP with a letter explaining that you may believe the speed recorded may be incorrect , and include any information that consolidates your position that the bike is unable to reach the speed . Wiki for one qoute the max speed as 24mph . The police may think it is not worth pursuing the charge as they would then have to refute your position . I reckon it's worth a punt , or you could even try and have a word with the police dept in charge of the offence and explain your concerns .

I thought the thread was a wind up when I saw who posted it.

Surely even a w!$% of a bike can go over its restricted speed if it's downhill with a big fat f!$% upon it?

you cannot pull clutch in , its auto , its also governed , 34 is about 25% more than its max speed , the little thing would self implode at that speed

I rise 20 moles to blackpool and 20 miles back today

set off at 8am this morning , just got back now

as silly as it sounds , speed in my town rarely exceeds about 20 mph , yup cars pass me , but at next st of lights I seem to pull up behind them

£30 a year to insure , no tax , no mot and about 100 mpg and it goes up hills , cheaper than a £3k electric china bike

More importantly if you was flashed wrongly then so possibly was a lot of innocent folk, I would sell your story to any newspaper that will except it and make a valid point that the company who has done this needs to retract all the fines it has served up I have a very good solicitor if you need one,
