Just had one done three days ago. Now back at home. What an amazing op. The wound site is tender but the deep internal pain has gone. Bonus is the knee on the same side isn't an issue at present either:thumbup:

Anyone here had one or both done? Can you still ride a bike later, or are you limited to cruiser type transport?

I would imagine you could ride what you like, my neighbour across the road has had it done a couple of years ago. He is a keen cyclist who competes up to 100 miles, he skis too.

I had a total knee replacement 4 years ago,the recovery varies greatly for no apparent reason. Mine took about 10 weeks I was cycling in a fashion after 7 . With a knee the hard work is exercising it to get back the bend wherever you get to around that time is where it stays and you normally don’t get as much as from your original one. I can ride the Daytona for around 60 miles but then have to get of and have a walk for a while.

Plus 1 from me.

That first six weeks is where you have to push yourselves for the knee bend as that will be your lot from about then.

No Pain from my knee since the operation. You forget how much it used to hurt until your other knee starts to catch up.

It was so nice to have no pain after the operation though.

I'll never forgive the NHS surgeon who operated on my M-i-L and fitted a new hip after years of misery and pain.....

.....it was a complete success.:smirk:

After a spinal I was put into a dream through the hand cannula while holding one of the nurses arses.

They kept on asking how I felt as they upped the dose. Fine I said as my hand cupped her arse. I do remember the four present (including sawbones) pissing themselves before passing out:thumbup:
