It runs deeper than that. It’s easy to label kids as soft, self obsessed little twats with no backbone or intelligence. The reality is that children are growing up in a world that has changed so rapidly that no one knows how to control it.

We didn’t have 24/7 tv, instant access to the world via the internet, fake news and the potentially poisonous world of social media which intrudes into every corner of our lives if we don’t know how to control it.

There is no real control and very little proper legislation into how platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp, Snapchat are used and how damaging their content and incorrect usage can be to young minds. Before anyone screams “that’s down to the parents”, anyone with a teenage child will tell you that life isn’t that simple. Deny your child a smartphone and they are singled out and excluded, kids are so smart they will use proxys to circumvent parental controls...life is not as black and white or as simple as “don’t let them have access to it”. In years to come we will look back on this era with the same bemusement as when people used to drill holes in the skull to exorcise demons, or doctors prescribed thalidomide for morning sickness.

Computers, it wasn't until the very, very late 80's that the Amiga 0.5MB or upgrade to a 1Mb (that I bought in 91 ish) that I can remember and I am discounting the Spectrum ZX 128 as that was a cassette.

Looks like the whole thing is a hoax according to the BBC, although they should know a thing or 2 about fake news. :speechless:
