Just to give some prospective. I'm an Ex-pat Living in the Land of Trump. No I'm not a Trump support or Detractor.

I'm curious as to what you lot on here think of Tommy Robinson AKA Steven Laxley or something like that. I think he has the gift of the gab, seems to be able to motivate people. For sure is making a living out of being controversial. In some ways I admire his drive & determination.

I will say, I'm not a big fan of any regligions. So understand his dislike of Islam.

What bothers me is the shutting down of his right to free speech through restrictive practices.

Be interested to know the thoughts of those living in Olde Blighty.

The bloke's a bit of a knob to be honest, but it's a bit of a coincidence that there has been a concerted effort to discredit him ever since he decided to take on the BBC over the documentary that they have made about him.

Not a great fan of TR's , his views are a bit extreme . But there is no doubt he is well versed and has some legitimate points , and a lot of things he has said in the past that would happen , have happened . Jeremy Paxman tried to make a fool of TR , but (imo) he failed miserably and ended up with egg on his face . He is no mug for sure

HE obviously can't speak his mind if the Moral Majority don't like it

Don't agree with him but I disagree with banning him from FB

No such thing as the moral majority.

there are a group of people who control and run this country and what they say goes (BTW I have no idea how many or who they are) We are mere sheep to be pastured and controlled unless we try to escape....TR is just another mouthpiece that will be controlled by some very very rich people to spread the information they require to be spread.Unfortunately there is more than one grouping of these people (think mafia families if it makes it easier but not families).

The ordinary person is in no better position than they were in the Dark Ages in reality. The lie to that they are is being played out right now in what we quaintly call a Democracy with a Parliament.

Mark my words; there are some very dark times just round the corner and you 'aint seen nothing yet (to coin a phrase).

Never been on Facebook, but my wife tells me loads of “controversial” accounts were shut down recently. Anyone who opposes Islamic extremism, but not the extremists. Nick Clegg was recently put in charge of such decisions, so no surprise.

Don't bet on it Dave, those duplications c!$%s in HoC are on course to overturn the biggest democratic vote in our history. Looks like a dead end, total capitulation to EU and betrayal of mandate.

I don't think he was saying that the white working class were like cannibals but that it was just as unusual to find one in a TV studio green room as it was to find a cannibal. Either way that is a pretty damning indictment of TV land and it's relationship with 'normal' people.

Tommy Robinson voices what a lot of people think and he's non too subtle about it. That does not make him public enemy number one unless of course you think he is right and he is going to upset you nice little apple cart.
If you believe he is wrong then he is no threat as the truth will always out.

He may not be the smartest tool in the box nor is he a particular fave of mine, but I'll tell you something.... the behaviour of the MP's in the house of commons is driving folks to start to listen to his types.... and if Parliament doesn't take heed of its populace then the far right will rise in popularity in the face of snout in the trough MP's ignoring the public will

I remember the NF and the BNP having open meetings in Romford town center. This would be impossible these days as they would be accused of race hatred. Indeed free speech has definitely taken a down turn. Now folk have no right to gag the far right or left even if they don't agree.

I expect to be banned from Twatter eventually, when it comes to our politicians I refuse to be silent.:smirk: As for TR he's similar to that other outspoken rabble rouser, Trump - they can both be c!$%s at times but are bang on the money now and again.

I will do everything to fight the Orwellian levels of censorship the far left are attempting to enforce daily. As far as I'm concerned they can get f!$%ed.

Happy Friday all, one more week until MotoGP, can't wait.

So Tommy, I think his popularity will grow, not so sure about Trump though?

Personally I wish that Maajid Nawaz on LBC would have him on his show.

Both have changed from their younger years. Yet I don't see anyone censoring Maajid. I have respect for both of them. Trying to shut down some ones free speech is just wrong. Surely its better to communicate and debate, than censor.

Lots wrong in the UK right now. Trying to Censor TR will just make his supporters even more determined, not sure that is a good thing. Anyways be interesting to see how it all plays out. I'm all for the underdog, so got Tommy & Rossi kick some butt this year please. Show them that us old farts can do it.

Not that I'm a fan but I see the French government is trying to get the better of Marine Le Pen three years after the event. Anything to do with the rise of the yellow jackets, her anti EU sentiment, and gaining ground on that twat Macron?

"Ms Le Pen and other members of of her party are under investigation over allegations that they misused €6.8 million (£5.8m) of European parliament funds between 2009 and 2017."

Perhaps they might prosecute the EU Council, EU parliament nd the rest of them for misuse of EU funds at the same time then? How many years? Think of a number between 0 and 40.
