.....is apparently lost on Americans. No s!$% Sherlock, most Americans wouldn't recognize sarcasm if you smacked them in the mouth with it. :speechless::speechless:

As a well-travelled American colleague of mine once said - "Americans are like Bulgarian Beaujolais, they don't travel well". Another favourite comment of his was "If you find a good American, shoot him quick before he turns bad"....:lol:

I've found through work, so I realize it's a restricted sample size, that Americans who travel for non-vacational reasons are generally more versed in the ways of the World compared to those who never left the shores of the US. They are generally, in the words of our vertically-challenged member, as thick as the proverbial pig s!$%.

This conversation actually took place in a bar in Daytona Beach between myself, my mate and two lovely American girls

Now bearing in mind this was during Daytona Bike Week and I was wearing a Harley T-Shirt the conversation went thus:

Lovely American Girl: So what are you doing here in the States?

Me: We're Astronauts and we've come over from the UK to work at the Space Centre

Lovely American Girl: Aren't you a bit small to be an Astronaut

Me: We only have a very small Space Programme

That was the winning chat up line :thumbup:
