So would the TV be used for just watching movies and such that are downloaded to your PC or are you talking about using a browser and surfing the web? Is the TV a modern smart TV connected to the router & web?

Just had a 2nd TV and Vbox installed in the conservatory... I want to send pc content to the new TV (I have a little table set up in the conservatory to make fishing rigs and want to watch tutorials on the TV as I make them)

the tv is a brand new LG smart tv and connected to a new V6 box

You can get HDMI splitters which you press the button to decide which input is used. Ok if you don't need the PC accessed in 2 places at once.

I have an LG tv but an Apple pc. Only way I can send from the iMac to the TV is using an Apple TV box, even then you have to convert to mp4 before it will work.
Should be really simple but as always it isn't

Cant you 'smart connect' your phone to the TV?

I have a Samsung phone that you can project the screen onto the Samsung TV.

Watch youtube on the phone and the TV
