That is really going to send out a strong deterrent message to anyone carrying a knife. 46

ES:
He must also complete up to 20 days of rehabilitation and 19 “thinking skills” sessions.
30 03 I don't see him passing that one.

Just sending the wrong message , it was supposed to be 5 years in prison for carrying a knife . You might as well legalise bladed weapons and at least you have a chance to defend yourself . It's a disgrace :speechless:

He will be in chokey pretty soon I reckon after the has seriously injured or killed someone because of this non sentence. The CPS wording was interesting when you read between the lines.

Odds on it will end in tears for some poor unfortunates family. Hope I'm proved wrong.....

The justice system is totally screwed. Police in this area were warning to be vigilant for but avoid a dangerous convict that had absconded from an open prison. Having been convicted of rape and aggravated assault why was he put into a prison that he could just walk out of?

I thought his brief claimed in mitigation that he'd been kidnapped 10 days earlier because of a friends unpaid borrowings and made to sell drugs for a gang in order to repay his pals debt.

Probably something he was good at anyway. f!$%ing ridiculous. Parachute into the Congo would be my sentence.
