http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ir...

One thing not mentioned is the right that a small business doesn't have to accept every job. If a customer calls and I didn't like the sound of the job then I won't do it, it's my right to refuse to do or to carry out the work.

If they lose this case and are told they have to bake this cake it looks to me like modern day slavery, that is surely against their Human Rights.

On the other hand, would you want to eat a cake baked by someone under duress? http://s3.amazonaws.com/pix.iemoji.com/i... :evil:

They have already lost this case twice and now have taken it to the supreme court for a final ruling. Part of the problem is they formed a contract by accepting the money then backed out the contract. If the customer was straight looking the same message it still would not have been made but the case would not have gotten this far.

The family concerned are high profile (locally) christians and I personally feel this was a bit of a set up to get a reaction.

The strange thing is the govt body the Equality Commission took them to court, but now the attorney general (govt appointed) is backing the bakers!!!!!

Has anyone brought up the fact that there is a copyright issue by using bert and ernie's image without the permission of sesame street/henson pupets etc!

Just a waste of time and money

A question might be how 'did they have full disclosure on the cake before accepting the money' i.e. were they tricked into the whole mess on purpose? The jury is out (like the orderer of the cake) on that.

:thumbup::thumbup:

It's been all the rage for years. Most of the gay people I know see the attention seekers as an embarrassment. The majority just want to be left alone to get on with their lives.

So what is the difference between Bisexual and Pansexual?

I assumed it was a female thing as it had a cooking utensil in the name.:smirk:

And don't you love the term 'Gender-blind'? Next they will call it a disability and expect a free guide dog! 66
