Bruce Anstey is set to miss the 2018 road racing season as he battles illness. According to his partner Anny Ramsay he has ‘multiple tumours in his lungs and a tumour on his spine’ as well as a blood clot on the lung, meaning its highly unlikely he will race.

Unfortunately, our collective life experiences will tell us that you are unlikely to be wrong. Even if he survives that, he won't race again.

One my best and oldest mates is a Kiwi - they're some of best folks on this planet. They work hard, live fast, love life and have great humour. Really sad to hear this awful news, just hope he somehow beats it though it sounds very bad.

Don't count out Bruce just yet. He's been battling cancer since before he started racing at the TT in the mid-1990's. Best of luck to him.

A mate of mine used to work for Padgetts Road Racing Team & said that Bruce was the nicest down to earth bloke you could meet. Lets hope he can pull through this.

I was fortunate to get to meet him on a couple of occasions. I can concur he is a really nice down to earth guy with no ego at all, a proper gentleman.
Let's hope he beats that awful disease.

I did not know that . I have always thought that the best way to live as long as possible with a serious illness like the big "C" is to try and have a positive outlook , and it certainly seems that Bruce has done that in spades.
Good luck to him
