No doubt some claims will now emerge that his diddling stick was not always in the right place...

RIP Ken Dodd

Same here, could see anything amusing in his act, the news was more entertaining.

I noticed he got married 2 days before his death, was it his last 2 fingers up at the tax man to avoid inheritance tax? If so, at least that was amusing.

Hi only saving Grace was the crack about the Inventor of Cats-Eyes markers in the road ...

Doddy:
..... if he had seen a cat not facing him and showing its reflective eyes, he would have invented the Pencil Sharpener .... "

Good old Barry "the only appearances I make now is paying tribute to dead people I used to write for" Cryer.

As for Ken Dodd, he used to go on and one for so long onstage that people used to miss the last bus home. Once at the Birmingham Hippodrome it was nearly midnight before he finished. My Dad (stage manager at the time) was on the verge of dropping the curtain in front of him.

I don't care if he fiddled a bit of VAT (A court said he didn't, remember). He raised millions for kids charities, and everybody likes a bit of cash in hand now and then.

Ken Dodd said that he didn't owe the Inland Revenue anything because he lived by the seaside.
