As an ex DHL warehouse manager I can imagine the mayhem that is currently going on with the KFC/DHL warehouse at the moment and the people I feel really sad for are the 250+ Bidvest employees who lost their jobs when DHL got the contract.

The 3rd Party Logistics business is rife with the big boys coming in and undercutting smaller companies to win the business, often running at a loss for 1-2 years before their normal methods of redundancies, contracting out services ie: cleaning, maintenance etc and finally employing new workers on 2nd tier contracts just above the living wage show them a small profit.

They will also gamble that the previous 3pl was "inefficient" and that they can cut costs and improve the service just by being bigger.

It looks like in this instance they have seriously got in wrong and in the foods business you never have a second chance once the food is out of date (strange since they ran a number of depots for Iceland Foods etc?).

I know that DHL & Bidvest employees have been told not to speak to any media, including TV, Radio and local/national press.

Hopefully this will demonstrate that it is not always for the best to change supplier, not only for the company involved but also for the employees.

There was some f!$%wit from Sheffield on the news earlier moaning that she had been forced to go to Burger King instead.
And the fact that a 9 year old girl was in floods of tears because she had been unable to have a KFC made national news.
What the fook is wrong with people. 30

What us wrong with people is that the 'great unwashed' are stupid by choice. Lazy minded, don't want to think about things, superficial, self-centred, self-absorbed, selfish (and numerous other selfs), and uncultured by choice.

People below a certain I.Q. should not be allowed to breed. It used to be the case in just about every country in the occident. Worked quite well, on the whole.

Norway, Finland, Sweden and Denmark all practised eugenics from the 1930s onwards 'to prevent the degeneration of the race'. Sweden only stopped doing so in the mid 70s. They had a regime of forced sterilisation.

Apparently feeble-minded and insane people were supposed to breed more freely than thrifty and energetic people of “superior” stock. 30

Let's face it we've lived in an anti-Darwinian society for a long time, You only have to turn on a TV to see how we celebrate stupidity.
Can't agree with having qualifications for breeding though, clever people can have stupid kids and stupid people can have clever kid's. And in any case whenever it is attempted it has more to do with money than IQ.

My suggestion was whimsical rather than serious. I am not actually a eugenicist. I just wish stupidity and anti-intellectualism wasn't valued in society.

It is interesting to note who was a eugenicist, though. Marie Stopes, for instance. That great feminist icon. H.G. Wells was one. George Bernard Shaw. That great socialist hero Sidney Webb. There's quite a list.

Although I would be quite happy to see Jeremy Kyle killed.

Shame someone didn't take the stupid cow away and deep fry her. Mass, deliberate, stupidy has become an art amongst the great unwashed. I suppose reverse evolution was bound to happen when reality TV arrived:lol: - makes me wonder what Darwin would make of it.44

I don't think you can blame TV for all of it TBH. In fact I reckon its a small factor.

The real factor is the 'nanny' state as we quaintly like to put it. Over the years the state has and is taking away responsibility of the individual to live their life. They are replacing it with rules and regulations that will enable them to have full control of the 'great unwashed' within a very few years. You will then see individuality become a crime (really a proper crime). And this will end up, eventually, with democracy being a term that is mainly blowing in the wind.

Now that of course is something that we may be able to change now we are leaving (I sincerely hope) what will become the super state of the EU (which is where much of the nanny state comes from in my view) within a very few years IF it survives the internal turmoil it is in now.

Brief but IMHO.

I was being fairly light hearted Tony but you knew that.:tongueout:

Agree with with other points but still think Darwin would be surprised at our lack of progress in many ways, particularly our ridiculously stupid and self destructive manner.

Major solar flare event that knocked out enough transformers worldwide could do it; we're buggered without power in this current digital global reliance on every watt and more.

Not so sure Darwin would be at all surprised. Since the 'fittest' will survive the coming Armageddon according to Darwin. The nanny state is making sure of that; the great unwashed will stand no chance once the brain washing has been completed unless it fails at the last hurdle and the great unwashed realise what is being done to them and the worm turns.

However I'm not sure that anyone will survive it......
