I'm in favour of all of the work being done.

My lad's office is a shambles, and he needs a new desk!

Why am I having visions of Basil setting off with a look of steely determination on his face and a very large garden gnome under his arm?

How about they do a tour of the country. The Commons sits in a major city for a month, then moves on to the next. I know it would cost a fair bit in temporary accommodation, etc., but it would be a rare (actually, one off) opportunity for the centralised government to actually see the whole country and look like the provinces actually count. Twelve major centres of population in a year, spread evenly around the whole nation.

Yeah, I know, pipe dreams ....

Can they not be moved to the Carrillion offices and then we can hope they will be taken down as well?

Only bicycles to be used and electric ones not allowed.

I wonder how much dodgy Intelligence Service spending is being buried inside that. And black ops, black bagging, dirty tricks and 'private security contractors'.

I don't have a problem with it as long as ALL the work goes to British companies. It's one of the finest buildings in the world and unique, as far as I know, in having a roof formed from cast iron!
However, I really don't see why the "temporary" building has to be anything too elaborate.

Wouldnt need 100's, as there are only about 20 in attendence at any one time...............unless its the debate about their expenses!
