To turn the sprouts down to simmer?
They've been boiling since 1st Dec so they should only need another 8 or 9 hours shouldn't they?

I hate sprouts (mainly because they taste like s!$% and I have had to prepare so many at one time in the past.

I then tried Hugh Fearnley-Whittinstall's recipe to make them wonderful....

No, they were still s!$%.

Sprouts done any more than al dente are wrong.

I actually like sprouts, however, I'm the only one here who does so what I do is shred them up pretty fine, (it's actually better to peel them apart but bollocks to that!), fry up a load of chopped up bacon until it's pretty crispy then bung in all the chopped up sprouts. When it's nearly done slap in a good dollop of butter and Bob's yer uncle - lovely, and they all eat them.

There was a programme on the telly the other day that reported on the fact that a good percentage of the population's taste buds pick up a bitter taste from them, which consequently is why they don't like them. I'm not in that group luckily & love 'em :thumbup:26
