So we'll have a £3.1bn submarine instead. May be more difficult to launch the aircraft but we'll work it out

Probably due to Cameron/Osbourne austerity a cheap Chinese seal was used.

There were bound to be some teething problems. It was built on the Clyde. It must be near impossible keeping that many Glaswegians sober for long enough to weld the f!$%er together properly.

It was welded together on the Forth under the shadows of the new bridge which also has questionable build quality (snagging) large chunks were built in various UK yards to be assembled at Rosyth dockyard.

I managed to survive two weeks on board a dive boat that was apparently sinking. As for the F35s, we'll be lucky if they can land on board....just hope they remember to retrofit the arrestor gear for the non VTOL 'A' version sans lift fan:speechless:....

Hopefully they'll be using the carrier variant (which is more than a CTOL with a hook nailed on the back. There is no VTOL F35, it is a STOVL.

Yup I know that, I was being lazy and you were being pedantic.:tongueout:

Still, listening to the Commons Defence Committee questioning some junior minister regarding the fit out of both carriers left me less than confident in their collective ability, or lack thereof, to do so.:speechless:

Funny how when people get stuff wrong they like to attempt to hold the moral high ground by accusing the other party of being pedantic. Even though you actually meant to accuse me of being a pedant.

When did having an eye for detail and a desire for accuracy bocome a sin?

Surprised you didn't juSt cut to the chase and call me a Nazi.

I wonder if that commons select committee know one end of that boat from the other, I suspect many of them struggle with arse and elbow.

FFS some people do have extremely thin skins on here! Why the f!$% read something into this discussion that just isn't there!? You know full well that the difference between VTOL and VSTOL is barely worth mentioning. As you know, I was talking about the major difference between the A and B model.

As for the Nazi comment, that is beneath you and about a pathetically low blow as you could throw.
