Has your bike been fitted with the alarm & later removed?

This one is notorious for draining the battery, as it does leave some elements live, like the horn, lights etc. If there's a flat metal plate under the pillion seat, then it's had an alarm at some point in it's life.

If the alarm is no longer fitted, the best way to preserve your battery is to either get a trickle charge, or disconnect it every time you've been out.

Don't forget that starting the bike with a duff battery will knacker the starter/sprag clutch.
