Yup, but it must be done at the correct engine temperature to be correct. And also 2.5-3% really does depend on the engine as some will require maybe a tad lower but rarely will they require anything higher. I'll try and dig out the where i got the engine temp bit from.

Idle Fuel Trim (CO adjust) models without O² Probe only
This can only be set when the engine temperature is between 80-95 degrees C.
