Daytona T595

17 Jun 2017 12:17
Hi , finally got the Daytona off the drive, insured and taxed the bike after a few months spent replacing the cylinder head and cams and getting it ready for an MOT.

Having been left for a while i also replaced the battery with a YUSA 14.7Ah unit and the bike starts and runs fine for a few miles with the temp indicator where it should be.

In slow traffic however the fan can be heard cutting in and the temp will rise but it doesnt enter the red section. If you stop the bike it also struggles to turn over after a couple of stop starts. Voltage at the battery is 13.8 volts @1800 rpm.

Is there any easy way to check if the head gasket is sealed correctly, i did replace this.

Is it worth changing the water pump impellor or reming the thermostat. The coolant feels a bit slimmy as if its got oil in it.

sorry, removing the thermostat
