Is there any sort of "ram-air" effect from the inlets being in the nose with the air-box in place? If so would you not lose that benefit at speed without it? Only thinking out loud here, I haven't a clue if it's effective or just a design exercise.


This has been the cause of heated debate on another forum I go on & it seems to be the case that there is no actual ram effect just less negative pressure, which is much better than nothing & why the factory race teams spend a lot of time & resources persisting with it, on a road bike an air box also sorts out a lot of noise & emission problems as well as filtering out the dust & muck
