Daytona 1200

30 Sep 2014 14:06
In my search for a float assembly for my D1200, I made the mistake of phoning a main dealer in Kent (name withheld, just in case!) Asked if they had float assembly for daytona 1200.......20 seconds later was asked "what bike was that again" "Daytona 1200".
Silence, then "Is that a super 3?"
"No, its a Daytona 1200"
Silence..."Is that a 3 or 4 cylinder bike?"
"4 cylinder 1200 cc"
" Have you got last 6 numbers of VIN?"
" Not here, and it would not matter anyway as the frame has been changed and has different Vin and i do not think that engine is the original"
"Really need those numbers"
"The part is the same for the range of D1200"
"Oh......hmmmmmm!"
i gave up at that stage!
