I've only just come across this - a bit shocking but not a surprise to me. I've wondered into the dealership a few times because I work in Wolves and sometimes drive past the shop. It never once had a good vibe to it. I think I knew more about the bikes than the staff there. I popped in for an oil filter once which took about 10 minutes to find, compared to my local bike shop ( Motorcycle Mart ) where the guy just reached behind him and handed me a genuine Triumph filter within 10 seconds !
The "boss" sounds like a shister, but as said, be careful Alex that the "boss" hasn't got some nasty friends who might not be very nice to you if the right money comes their way !
As JY said, it is sad that good old fashioned dealerships, which are good to their customers, such as Wylie and Holland, have been kicked into touch by Triumph.
