Great write-up. I think cutting the hole with an angular grinder is probably easier than using a jigsaw.
Note that Sprint carbon ('off road') pipes with bolt-less endcaps can be repacked as well. The endcap is pressed on the inner pipe and can be knocked off fairly easily, the rest of the procedure is the same as described in the article.
Funny thing about the Sprint carbon pipes is that there is a baffle just after the mounting bracket dividing the pipe into two compartments, 30 cm in front with the damping material, and 17 cm behind the bracket. The latter turn out to be a chamber with no damping material, but instead with another pipe around the inner perforated pipe. Perhaps a resonance chamber, or just cheaper to manufacture, no idea...
