We are delighted to be supporting the Thankful Villages Run this summer. The Run is a nine-day charity ride to all 51 villages in the UK that were fortunate enough to have all their soldiers return home alive at the end of the Great War in 1918.

Taking place from 27th July - 4th August 2013, the run is the brainchild of motorcyclists Dougie Bancroft and Medwyn Parry and aims to raise £51,000 in aid of the Royal British Legion.

We supplied 30,000 motorcycles to the allied forces in WW1, and will be loaning two of our Trophies to the duo, to enable them to undertake this historic tour.

Riders are encouraged to join in for any part of the trip, though they would be encouraged to make a minimum donation of £5 per bike per day for the Thankful Villages Run. Further details can be found here www.thankfulvillagesrun.com

It was a weekend of mixed fortune for the Triumph factory teams at Knockhill this weekend.

Two sixth place finishes for Richard Cooper at the Scottish circuit saw the Oxford TAG Triumph squad record its best results of the season and move into the top 10 of the 2013 Motorpoint British Supersport Championship standings.

The Smiths Racing Triumph Team, however, had a tough time with Billy McConnell's third place in race two being the best result the Gloucester team achieved. McConnell's teammate and reigning Motorpoint champion, Glen Richards crashed out in Saturday's sprint which eliminated him from the rest of the weekend with damage to his arm and shoulder.

The Team Haribo Starmix team also had a disappointing weekend with Joe Collier crashing out on the first lap bringing his weekend to a quick halt, a particular shame after his stunning race win at Donnington Park.

Wishing everyone the best of luck for the next round of action at Snetterton.

Our ten Young Guns have attended their first mentoring session at the factory in Hinckley, which looked at the dark arts of sponsorship, PR and media interviews.

Luke Wilkins from Bike World and David Miller of BSN magazine both were on hand to help put the ten Young Guns through their paces in mock media interviews.

The next Young Guns session will take place at Loughborough University, when we will be putting them through a fitness test, giving advice on appropriate diets and looking at the psychological aspect of racing.

Transport for London (TfL) is recruiting motorcyclists to take part in road safety research, in order to make sure improvements aimed at cyclists also benefit them.

Trials of ‘Dutch style’ roundabouts and low level signalling are being carried out to assess their suitability for introduction on UK roads, subject to approval. If successful they could be introduced in London as early as next year.

Motorcyclists aged 25 or over are invited to apply to take part by completing a form that can be downloaded from the Transport Research Laboratory’s website which can be found here: http://bit.ly/Z1lRd3

Flossey also can't feel the uncomfortable heat being blown onto her thighs when the cooling fan kicks in. One of the gripes owners have about the 800s in hot climates or when crawling in slow traffic situations.

Extremely inspirational story on the BBC yesterday regarding Triumph Triple Challenge rider, Murray Hambro, who lost both his legs from just below the knee after his tank drove over a roadside bomb when he was serving in Afghanistan.

You can read more about Murray's story here: http://bbc.in/12u2ZBQ

Or better still, see him in action in the next round of the TTC at Snetterton in July.
