BBC: Morris dancing could be "extinct" within 20 years because young people are too embarrassed to take part, a UK Morris association has warned.
Jeez, are you surprised?

Quote: The number of people taking part in the English folk dance is falling while the average age of the dancers is going up.
So Morris dancers and motorcyclists have something in common then

I imagine that it's as much opportunity as anything else now. When one leaves the pub one is more likely to indulge in Volkswagon or Toyota dancing I would think.

Thank god for small mercies no more bloody morris men we get 100's of them come to Sidmouth for folk week, locals call them Hemroids because they come in groups and are a pain in the ass, prancing around the town holding up traffic with their tankards straped to their belts.

C'mon then - own up! Given the average age of members on this site there must be somebody who is, or has been at some time, a morris dancer. What's their opinion?
