Speed Triple 955i (02-04)

Hmmmm.....let's see what I remember......
DT50
MT5 (eurrgh)
DT125 YPVS
TZR250
YZF750SP (great bike, wrote it off after 6 weeks of joyous ownership)
TZR125 (bored-out to 170-ish, blueprinted, Nikon exhausts, servo kit, Skoal Bandit colours - capable of embarrassing much bigger bikes)
TZR250 reverse-cylinder (loved it, thrashed it, crashed it )
TDR250 (TZR front-wheel, all the usual stuff including Stan Stephens tune - fast as fook)
ANOTHER TZR125! Pretty standard apart from the ported and flowed motor - smashed my knee to tiny pieces on this one when I couldn't get around the car coming towards me on the wrong side of the road. Hit and run drivers should be killed IMO. Ten years off then....
XL125R. Horrid. Just a nasty, slow, crap-handling piece of s!$%.
02 Speed Triple 955i in Neon Blue. I love this thing - the best bike I've ever ridden, with looks and noise to die for. I can't see me selling it!

Good idea to track ones path in this magnificent obsession.

Mobylette Moped - felt like heaven after a pushbike - went like stink for short distances on neat petrol (without 2 stroke oil)
Matchless 250CSR - First 'real' bike, fragile gearbox
Royal Enfield 500 Bullet - customised into cafe racer, but looks was about all it had.
Matchless 350 G3LS Trials iron - loved this bike, one of those I wish I had kept.

Emigrated to New Zealand 1972

Yamaha RD350 - exciting and so reliable
BSA 650 Lightning - too much vibration, broke mufflers regularly, tendency to overheat
Triumph 500 Daytona - my first Triumph and one of the best.
Suzuki B100 - just for commuting
Sunbeam S7 500 - heavy, ok in a straight line and if you're not in a hurry.
Ariel 650 Huntmaster - boring
Suzuki T500 - quick , smoky and lots of stroker ring-a-ding.
BMW R65LS - too heavy and boring.
Suzuki TS185ER - wring its neck and it will still come back for more - damn good bike, wish I had kept it.
Triumph 500 Daytona (2nd one) - I love these Daytonas.
Trumph 650 Trophy - another Triumph success story
Triumph 750 T140D Bonneville Special - not as smooth as the 650, but love the style. I still have this one.
Suzuki GS1200Y - fast, top heavy and boring.
Moto Guzzi Le Mans 1000 - real grumble and grunt - very macho.
Triumph Legend 900 - One of Hinckleys best - wish I'd kept it.
Moto Guzzi California Stone 1100 - Yes, I do like Guzzis, I still have this one, a nice contrast to the S3
Triumph Speed Triple - I still have this one, a fabulous toy and a nice contrast to the Guzzi

@ mark hurley :

How did that Suzuki TL 1000 behave ??

I have to admit that when I bought my t595, I was seriously considering to buy a -yellow too- used one.
Then I was told that TL 1000 had serious handling problems with the "rotative valve monoshock"......

I wonder if it was a C50 though. Moped, separate tank, swan neck frame, swing arm front forks, plastic, yellowing-fast leg shields...

Different exhaust, wide bars, speed restriction removed...

Yamaha DT50 (1993 - 1994)
Saved me the 3 mile walk home from Town

Yamaha TZR 125 (1994 - 1996)
Just an upgrade

England U.K.

Triumph Daytona T595 '97 (May 2008 to present)
First bike after selling my porsche and taking my direct access. I love this bike but it was poorly treated by it's previous owner and I kept having to throw money at it.

Yamaha R6 '08 (Nov 2008 to Present)
Picked this up yesturday after I decided I had put enough money into the T595.

Yamaha DT100...had to start somewhere...

Suzi GT250...pranged it in 3 weeks and reduced a beaut little bike to a wrecked runner in one go...first major injury...broken pelvis...17th birthday in hospital

Suzi T500 Titan...cheap and powerful...s!$% drum brakes

H2 Kwaka..first triple...practised wheelies till I could go 4 gears..made a big impression on me...

Suzi GS750...smooth and at the time very modern...smacked it on the road, then did a better job at Mallala racetrack...broke my collarbone on this one.

H1 triple...early model, disc brakes but 3 sets of points!!

Suzi TS185, nearly new, straight swap for the evil Mach III...

Honda CB350 Four....slow but great noise with "modded" zorst...

RD350 Yam....much faster and eeeeeyyowwhttp://www....wheelies..

GT550 Suz...'spansion chambers, clipons, twin discs...liked it a lot but it got stolen...got it back in pretty much the same shape 2 yrs later!

another RD350.....fun bike...

CB750...bought as a wreck and built into full custom chopper, rigid frame, raked to the max, tank, frame, rear guard welded and molded...chicks loved it...

Another Mach III...this time with discs AND electronic ignition!!

Z1000A...tough old girl...only thing that ever let me down was a fuse ....broke my back on this one in a collision with a car

RM370A...bought it for a slab of beer and fell off it too many times after consuming same

GPZ900R...fast, good brakes, didn't like the handling

HD XL1100 (1986) first Harley. Did a lot of touring on that once I had replaced the peanut tank...this bike is now 18 yrs old and going strong...it has been passed around our crowd over the years and Gary the latest owner is just stoked with it. Dont believe anything you hear about Sportsters (or HD's in general) until you have owned one!!

Triumph Bonneville...bought it for the wife who liked the idea of riding it until I said she had to get a licence..

Kwak KX500...another wild wheelie machine....sold on doctors suggestion...said I'd live longer!

Honda CBX six...nostalgia piece which I somewhat regret passing on now...wild sound with quite loud 6 into 2's...surprisingly torquey...smooooooth...

1993 XL1200...balanced overbored motor with high comp pistons, hot cams and Mikuni smoothbore...2 into 2 S/Steel flat track type pipes....

HD FXRS-C 80 cube Convertible. Comfy, smooth, excellent ground clearance...no I am not joking.

2002 S3...what can I say..?

1989 XL1200 HD...looked s!$%ty when I bought it cheap looked good when I trebled my money on it a few months later

1989 RGV 250 Suzi...shed gnome...one day

1986 RG500 Suzi...smelly road rocket in excellent nick...zzziiiiinnngggg!!!

2005 HD FXDL (Lowrider) 88 cube my general road bike these days

ZRX1200R...bought it on fleabay, sold it on same 2 years later and made over a grand on it...cant complain

OK here's mine:

1. '96 Suzuki GN125 (awful!)
2. '93 Yamaha XJ600 Diversion
3. '98 Suzuki Bandit 600S
4. '93 Triumph Trident 900 Sprint
5. '94 Honda XR250R

Current:
6. '03 Triumph Speed Triple
7. '94 Suzuki GS500E

Unfortunately it looks like the Speed Triple will soon have to go due to a severe shortage of cash, and a broken piston ring. *sob*

This seems like a good spot for a first posting...

In order of ownership
1989 MZ EZ125
1985 Honda VT500 (I was skint....)
1991 Honda CBR600 (top bike, took me and the future missus to Cornwalll and back for the eclipse in '99)
1996 Yamaha Thundercat (massively underrated, embarrased a few litre-class bikes on this)
2002 Honda VTR100F Firestorm (5 years before camchain tensioner failed)
1998 Triumph T509 - my current ride!
