riding bicycle now
Some of those where rat bikes that accompanied the summer tool, some where 2nd bikes from when I had money .... before the twins arrived (Babies, not V or parallel)
1978 Italjet 50 MX - 1st bike, 5th dirthday present.
1980 CR80 Red Rocket - 1st proper MX race bike
1983 YZ80
1985 YZ125
1988 CR125 - (got nicked 11th November 88, I cried all day.)
1989 TS50X - 16 years old and daft - crashed it every week.
1990 DTR125 - 17 years old and still daft - crashed it every other week.
1991 CB750 + RD350 YPVS - just passed my test in April, took the 750 to the TT and nearly died 5 times. Swapped it as soon as I got off the ferry.
1993 RGV250 + Monoshocked X7 + Standard X5, TZR 125 race bike. Racing was not cheap, so the RGV got downgraded to an X7 to release funds, then downgraded again to an X5, then gave up racing for good.
1993 GSXR 750M fondest memories, first proper big bike. 11 points on the licence...
1996 GSXR 750WT felt like Kevin Schwantz.
1998 GSXR 600WW revvy and hooooge fun baiting bigger bikes.
2000 GSXR 750Y + CG125 highsided the 750 joining the M40, repaired and part ex'd, was never the same after the crash. Inherited wifeys CG125 after her short visit with motorcycling.
2003 Part ex'd both the above for the Daytona CE, wifey didn't know about the CG going until the van came to collect it. Mr Unpopular for 2 weeks.
There was a Transalp and some CB100Ns at some point too for a few weeks, also a few 125s that got refreshed and sold on to mugs.
Always had a bike since I was 5, except when the CR got nicked and I had 12 months of BMX.
Taken over an hour to type this post, so many happy and sad memories.
1980 Yamaha XS250 special
1982 Kawasaki GPz750
1984 Honda VF1000F
1986 Ducati 1000 Mike Hailwood Replica (bike shop burned down with my bike in it, otherwise might still have this one. Would like another bevel drive Duke. Basic by todays standards but 'different', not bad to work on, a pretty engine and an accomplished handler).
1987 Yamaha RD250LC. Bit of a project, engine mods, paint etc. Loads of fun. Got this thing going and didn't go near the 'Hailwood' for three weeks. Blew up though. Bugger.
1991 Ducati 851. 1989 model, beautiful bike, my 'two-wheeled Ferrari'.
1998 Moved to UK, bought '83 Kawasaki GPz1100 (zx1100A3) just to get me to Brands for WSB. Ended up keeping it for 6 years (couldn't afford a Speed Triple). Was a quick old girl but jesus, was it huge. Spent more time in bits than it did getting ridden mind.
2005 Back to Australia and a (relatively) modern bike. 2000 mod' Daytona. Beautiful. I'm satisfied. Might spend some bucks on suspension mods but otherwise, don't want anything more from a motorcycle... until something else comes along (but it will have to be pretty inspiring).
Moto Guzzi California 750 (early 80's) Suzuki Intruder 750 (Late 80's) Nothing in the 90's
Harley Softail Deuce 1450 (2000) Rocket III (2004)

A break for about 15 years, then
Harley 1340cc Convertible (a bit too Marlborough man 4 me!)
Kawasaki Z750 watercooled (Ritzla body, not even fast enough to get away from the local fuzz Ford Mondeo....umm, i did fall off....hic!)
Another break for about 10 years, then
Yamaha FZ600 faser
Then I test road a new ST Sprint and was put off by the heat fm under the seat, too hot! On the same day I test road a 955i and had to have it!

Kawasaki KDX250

Scary - had one of those myself for a short while, with rearsets, clipons, expansion boxes. Used to suprise quite a few people on 850 Nortons and even managed to keep up with my mates Trident T140. Loadsa fun, but got rid in order to keep my licence.
Yep - Mum used to say she could hear me coming home on that thing from a couple of miles away - So no chance of lying about what time I actually got in of a nightime
RSV Millie Track bike & road legal
954 Blade Road bike
Early Blade with late engine track bike
954 Blade track bike.
T595 road bike for two's upping with the Missus.
T595 being being Speed Triple, polished frame Gsxr forks etc.
FC 600 Husaberg for hurting myself in the woods.
50cc Mini Chopper for paddock fun at track days.
I plan to sell 50% of the above as soon as the season kicks off-the only trouble is which ones do i sell?????In an ideal world i'd keep them all.
A freind said asked "why have you got 8 bikes" and the obvious answer is that i can't afford 9! (or 8 for that matter!)-Anyone need a track bike this year??
Nooo not the Millie!
I want to keep them all but need to be realistic. The Millie i will keep for a year or so as its such good fun on the road-curiously i don't like it much on the track-too top heavy and bloody hard work at say Rockingham or Lydden nad not actually that quick..
Deffo to go is the early Blade late engine combo which is cracking on the track- as fast as you need plus handles superbly well (white power shock and re-valved forks) and....its road legal! And i was going to ebay it in a month or so...Unless of course.....
'81 Honda CB750K 09/92 (dad hooked my up by trading an old POS snowmobile for it) - 08/98 (Sold to a RAF guy while I was stationed in Germany): stripped naked, first street bike, first time over the ton, first time pulled over by the cops cuz I gave my 14 year old girlfriend (hey, I was only 16!) my helmet to wear and I wasn't wearing any glasses or eyeprotection. Got off with a warning, or wait, was that in the wrong order?
'98 Sprint SS (BLACK): 10/98 (new) - 04/01, 17.5k mile
'98 T595 Daytona (BLACK): 04/01 (5.5k miles) - 04/06, 22.5k miles: broke track cherry on this thing, some heli bars for comfort, a Renegade CF single can, left exit pipe for some bark, down one in the front up one in the back gearing for some bite, and damn Jessica Rabbit like sexy!
'00 TT600 (BLACK-track, Black/Yellow-street): 02/02 (salvage, 180 miles) - 04/06, 4.6k miles (3.2k on the track): with some serious dyno time and Tune Editing, she put down 106rwhp, screaming fun! Also got some screen time on Comcast "In Demand" mini-documentary with her at the track...
'06 Speed Triple (BLACK): 04/06 (new) - present: just broke 1050 miles and changed the oil and filter, now it's.... GAME ON!
FS1E (25% share of a very broken one aged 12 - engine only worked going downhill)
Lambretta Li 50 series 2 (1/3 share aged 14 - very unreliable but at least it would go uphill when working)
Vespa 50 Special (1985 age 16)
Above bike but most of body work cut down and a Primavera 125 engine in it (1986)
Kawasaki KDX125 (1990 - finallly graduated from scooter to bikes)
Yamaha FZR600 (1991 - impulse purchase day I passed my test)
Yamaha Super-Tenere (1991)
Yamaha Super-Tenere (1996) This one was much better - full supermoto treatment, absolutely mental and the smaller wheels meant my toes reached the floor on this one.
Suzuki GSX750F (1998) Bought as a workhorse for commuting in and out of London, but much better than the mags ever gave it credit for. Kept it til it died.
Kawasaki ZRX1100 - (2001) Fantastic bike - comfortable, incredibly strong engine, handled just enough to put the pressure on sportsbikes but great for taunting GT cars on dual carriageways.
Kawasaki ZX9R (2005) Only kept this for 6 weeks. Never got it into top gear and regularly (almost daily) saw 150mph on the clock!!!! Too fast for the road until I learn some self control
Speed Triple (2005) Best bits of both of previous kwaks in one package. This one IS a keeper.
