Red Monkey: Autoglym shampoo follow by a rub with a chamois
Although the chamois was rendered ineffective on the seat hump after my daughter decided to help clean it with a sponge she had got from the kitchen: one of those little yellow sponges with a pan scourer
I remember you posting about that at the time I use Autoglym shampoo.

I use head'n'shoulders mainly coz there's more hair on my shoulders than my head ...

Mal, Had you ever thought that maybe head and shoulders is too strong and thats why the hair all ends up there ? Try something milder, like Johnsons Baby Shampoo

Andy .. have you thought this through ? If H&S does what it says on the bottle then baby shampoo may as well. I could turn into a bald, pudgy individual with a breast obsession who keeps falling over and crying.

Used Washing up liquid for years. Haven't seen any problems at all. My bike looks fine!

Its a bit of a split opinion on whether it actually is a problem - I'm not convinced either. People go on about salt content etc, but when a teaspoon or so is diluted in a bucket of water, the salt is completely dissolved and non-abrasive so no problem. Its only a problem if not rinsed properly so the salt has a chance to crystallise out, but even then only if you rub it down.
