Hi guys, went out for a run on my 18,000 mile Sprint Executive on Sunday.Everything was great until I stopped for a coffee then when I got back on the bike I couldn't get out of second gear. When I got home after 30 miles of this and had a look the lever wasn't returning when I kicked up.I noticed that the linkage bar has got a slight bend at the foot peg end,is this right or should it be straight? The bike has been dropped on it's left side at sometime in it's life but I've owned it for 2000 miles without a problem before. In fact I've always been amazed how much smoother the gearbox is compared to my 955 ST!

Can't help, but I guess it should be straight? Been wishing again lately that I shouldn't have sold mine. Media File

Straightened out the linkage bar(it was actually bent at both ends),re-fitted the sprocket cover(it was needing a new gasket anyway) topped up the clutch fluid and Bob's your uncle,a gearbox good as new! A happy bunny!

Clutch fluid? call me thick, but I thought that the ST had a cable clutch

Sprint Executive, not 955/1050 Sprint ST Different

Yeah,I'd say as far as the clutch/gearbox goes Triumph took a step backwards with the ST.

Different
OK, must admit I've not heard of it. But a hydraulic clutch would be a good idea. The only problem I've know was with my Father-in-laws Aprilla where the clutch fluid used to 'boil'.
