Domino: Wasn't it a recall item ? Take the fecker back to them to sort
Yes it is a recall ,but the dealer will use plastic ones,And they only replace the female end! If your bike has ever been serviced at the dealership, then most likely The fitting has been replaced!!! Trained mechanics Break them just as easy we do!!

umm , my bike had not been in for the recall , but the dealer supplied 2 x ALUMINIUM fittings (foc) , in order to get his 8 minutes labour , and to clear my bike from the records
NOTE ALUMINIUM!!!
those come complete with a rubber seal , and a new hose clip
1) its only the male side they supply, the female plastic ones in that tank still break
2) they're not self sealing so the line empties itself all over you when you disconnect
better to get some decent ones.
1: yes
2: yes , I,m a carburetter man , so am used to draining carbs , and fuel leakage
umm , i,m selling the bike , not paying the mortage money to keep fitting new bits
the ones that have come out (plastic) are in good nick and will be handy as spares (for someone) , I only changed them as a: they were FOC and b: the tank had to come off to be drained of water (clear vent pipes etc)
my reason for making the above post was to inform members that the replacement fittings are alloy , not plastic
Mine has not been to the stealer yet so I still have factory originals, and have been tender enough with them not to break them as of yet. YET being the golden word, tomorrow I will go remove the tank and end up breaking the feckrs because I have said I have not broken them yet!
I seem to recall we did have a thread with metal male and female connectors. I thought I would throw out the idea as I had seen them on fleabay.
Nige: Look back half a dozen posts - j.p. posted the numbers. You need 2 of each number (male & fem) to convert a fuel tank.
That's about all I posted correctly
I ment to type the dealer will replace the Female with plastic if they break and the male with Metal ones as per the recall ...me head is a mess With Vicodin and tramadol
