Bugsy: From what I've seen of late it is my belief that the reason for posting a departure is simply a shout out in the dark for the 'trolls' and argumentative f!$%s who insist on personal attacks to stop it.
Having re read this I have to agree there. TBH that was certainly true in my case. Sometimes its the only way. Not pretty not very cool headed or maybe even sensible but sometimes the only option left. It does get a bit like a playground in here at times. If you differ from the majority view you get slapped about by type.

A few months back we discussed heavily moderating, even banning political threads. This was rejected by the masses.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought the whole point of the triples and tipples forum was for ALL the serious stuff, including any political stuff. Freeing up the arms to be relaxed and full of FRIENDLY banter etc. I pointed this out in the arms a few times when the Arms was getting "heavy" but it fell on deaf ears.
Along with some choice threads and content that some people decided to post I decided to give TT a break, as a consequence I haven't bothered renewingy Prem membership.
When I first joined TT it was for help and advice, and I stayed on cos I enjoyed the friendly banter and abuse
But of late, things have got particularly serious in the Arms so stayed away for a bit.
Maybe, the topics in the Arms reflects the mood of a lot of the people out there at the minute but I miss the frivolous stupid pointless threads that I enjoyed laughing at.

I agree with Phil, put the serious stuff in the T&T section.
