Strange, the word 'forget' appears in the same sentence as BMW tourer iirc, that was a comment in the BiKE test, extremely competant, if a little bland.

Indeed, but it still sells in good numbers I suppose the R1200 RT could be considered as a little bland. Are touring bikes meant to be anything else other than purely functional?

The K13GT is one seriously quick bike. Very capable - for a big barge. Which is what i'm hoping for with the Trophy.

But it is a big barge. Would you rather ride the equivalent of http://www.jakobstadsbatvarv.multi.fi/im... or http://i1.trekearth.com/photos/23210/lea...

I can't see the second picture - but i'm guessing the proposed price will make it a moot point anyway. The new Tiger Sport may end up as the weapon of choice - or maybe a second hand KTM SMT..

Paul 'the' Bastard: Interesting that you have selected the K1300GT when everyone else thinks that the 'new' Trophy is aimed at the R1200RT People tend to forget about the GT being another current BMW tourer
The K1300GT would be a better comparison IMO but it's been dropped hasn't it and replaced by the 1600? Though I've just noticed "current" in your post - I thought they were just selling off what they had left? Had a look at both at last year's NEC show and preferred the 1300, the 1600's just a bit OTT for me.

Spondonash: Bloody hell that thing looks just like a BMW, couldnt they have put the wheels in a different place and why the hell put the engine in the middle ? I thought BMW had a patent on putting the tank above the engine ?
But I thought the Germans liked to put their tanks in Belgium, France, Russia...........

I though they stopped making it about 18 months ago when the 1600s came out?
