I am curious as to how likely this is, as it has just happened to me. Also would Triumph cover this by warranty thanks sam

It could happen, but as to how Triumph would react to a warranty claim it all depends on how obvious the fault is and how old the bike is.

at 4 years old it'll be hard to prove it was a manufacturing fault which is all the warranty really covers. It could have easily been knocked and weakened

Ask your dealer to ask Triumph for a 'Goodwill Contribution'

The problem is getting it to a dealer. Its stuck in one gear and I still need to ride home from the office (waiting for the traffic to die down). Also its been serviced by the LBS, not Triumph so that is not going to help either. Think a Honda is next in line. Every summer I get a fault.

I just got my bike back from its 20.000km service(12,000mile) they had to replace the accuator shaft because it wasn't selecting properly, more than 2mm play in it.......I hadn't noticed but he showed me the removed rod and it looked pretty worn to me.

can you not use some mole grips to put it into a different gear and ride it back home??
