Dave sp3 Bedfordshire, United Kingdom Premier Member Posts: 1,569 Tiger Explorer 10 Jul 2012 08:03
Yes please it looks like a great place to ride
Fretmeister Moaning about bikes, United Kingdom Premier Member Posts: 61,571 Daytona Super III 10 Jul 2012 13:50
I shall check prices for accomodation etc and see if it is a viable alternative to the Ardennes.
Rob NMTB Redditch, United Kingdom Premier Member Posts: 43,485 Sprint ST (05->) 10 Jul 2012 16:40
Or couple of days in the Ardennes, on to Vosges, stop for 2/3 days, then back via 'somewhere' else
Dave sp3 Bedfordshire, United Kingdom Premier Member Posts: 1,569 Tiger Explorer 10 Jul 2012 19:14
oh i didnt realise it was an alterative
Fretmeister Moaning about bikes, United Kingdom Premier Member Posts: 61,571 Daytona Super III 11 Jul 2012 20:42
I've been looking as there is also some points of interest I would like to see. Plus I have seen some of the roads on Le Tour.
Fretmeister Moaning about bikes, United Kingdom Premier Member Posts: 61,571 Daytona Super III 12 Jul 2012 14:14
It's a future trip. With a possible extension to the alps. I think the "stay for a few days" idea has sunk in. I don't mind taking 2 days to get somewhere, but it's far nicer to have a base to explore from. I still need to find an hotel for our return jaunt though. Which I have just found. Very basic hotel/motel, but there are several restaurants nearby less than a mile walk. I shall book it shortly for 2 nights.

Last hotel booked. It's "HOTEL CERISE" in Noyelles Godault. Nothing fancy, €41 a night, but I've given up trying to find a central hotel. Secure parking, close to 3 restaurants, so it should be OK. Ieper cancelled. I'll carry on looking nearer the date though.

Which week was decided on ?
Fretmeister Moaning about bikes, United Kingdom Premier Member Posts: 61,571 Daytona Super III 28 Jul 2012 10:08
Basic hotel, but the reviews are OK and, as I said, there are 3 nearby restaurants, although bars such as those we normally do are scarce.............................non existent really. Sat 18th May to Sat 25th. Gives everyone the Sunday to recover from travelling then.
Rob NMTB Redditch, United Kingdom Premier Member Posts: 43,485 Sprint ST (05->) 28 Jul 2012 10:43

Hello. Since Nige successfully asked for my inclusion it would be rude of me not to register to say thank you. Thank you javascript:emoticon(' '); I do have a strumpet and it is a proper one javascript:emoticon(' '); (Nige has told me my Beemer choice will attract derision so I choose to get in early javascript:emoticon(' '); ). Looking forward to meeting yous javascript:emoticon(' '); Oh if you plan to use Brittanny ferries for the Oradour trip pm me for a discount code.

Welcome Frogger p.s. we've progressed beyond what I suspect you refer to as "a proper strumpet"

Fretmeister Moaning about bikes, United Kingdom Premier Member Posts: 61,571 Daytona Super III 20 Aug 2012 19:29
Wimmin like handbags. I still have to beat them off with a s!$%ty stick when I stop.
Rob NMTB Redditch, United Kingdom Premier Member Posts: 43,485 Sprint ST (05->) 20 Aug 2012 19:54
Hmm even I hadn't registered the Tiger as a girl's bike. But who am I to argue
