....Can it be done if the bike had a center stand? Was thinking the center stand kit is cheaper than 2hrs lab @Dealer..... Or, how do peeps on here change them?

You need to get the front off; so a means of suspending it from the rafters is better. Center stand/Abba Stand and quality rope is your best bet.

Cool, I've ordered a center stand.

cable tie the stand in the "stand" position so it doesn't retract when you least expect it.

Hehe, excellent!! Did it today. Bought a center stand kit from Sprint. Was pretty easy thankfully plus now cleaning and oiling is easier. Only sadness is, I dont think you can run the undertray AND a center stand. My inner poser isn't happy with this arrangement Guess I'll just remove the center stand and refit the fairing in the future. Some S T's seem to have the undertray and others dont.

as all have said above!!! plus make sure that high torque fastners (spindle and headstock top nut) are slackened with the bike on the ground.... it's an easy way to bring the lot crashing down!!!! once the bike is up in the air double check it is secure and stable.... a good friend of mine spent about four hours trapped under his own bike in his garage after it fell off a stand during repair work .... luckily his missus popped out to let him know his dinner was ready and got the neighbours to help extricate him!! how we laughed!!!! but it could've been more serious if it had ended up across his chest! good luck with the swap and putting the bearing races that go into the frame in the freezer for half an hour before fitting will aid the process no end!!!

Didnt seem to need freezing, they went in relatively easily but I previously worked as a bike machanic so took it in my stride I think. I also removed the screen (not sure what it's from, nt stock) so I have the full speed Triple look for the first time and what with the new bearings plus checking tyre pressures, she's quite a different beast!! In a good way though. I'd become so used to the straight ahead notch in the old bearings!!
