The MTS was bloody faultless on holiday. Economical, comfy and bloody rock stable at a GPS confirmed 140 mph on the autobahn. Someone else on this forum is hankering after one a lot after trying mine....
The guy who runs my local bike emporium has just bought one and was showing me round it yesterday. His is also in Zanussi white but is an S model and he has bought all the touring gear to go with it.
It's one of the few new bikes that tempts me at the moment.
What sort of economy did you get, TT? And how far does a tank go?
Shock, horror, I've found a fault. My O/S Rizoma indicator has been discoloured by the exhaust fumes being channelled to it by the recess in the pannier

Was out with a couple of others yesterday. Part of our route involved some nicely flowing dual carriageway. Withing half a mile I'd lost them. Turns out they were backing off to get out of, and I quote "That f!$%ing jackhammer noise rattling around in my helmet"
Well, the search for a more acceptable exhaust continues. I'm not going to spend any more until I can hear one for myself but the Arrow Black system seems to be scoring quite highly at the moment. http://www.motorcycleraceparts.co.uk/sho...
You could still hear your bastard exhaust a mile away at 100mph.....................................................................and I was at the front
I remember once following a mate on his Honda SP2 with open Harris cans. That gave me a headache too.
I think there is a balance to be struck somewhere as without a shadow of doubt you are less likely to get some f!$%wit pull out on you when you have a noisy can.

Sorry, I disagree. Cars are well soundproofed nowadays and most will have a stereo going, headphones in, on the phone, watching the sat nav, so loud cans make f!$% all difference until you are next to the driver.

Unless it's a Dutwatti f!$%-off pipe of course.
Quite.
Still the best noise any bike ever made, IMHO.
I still think if a car is stopped at a junction there is a decent chance they may hear you with a noisy can. I know i have noticed a difference since i bought the Ducati and the Arrow can for my S3. It can only help, not make things worse.
I suspect that you are more likely to get picked up by plod for a noisy can on an IL4 than any other bike as they scream like a race bike rather than make a decent loud noise.
I am sad to inform you "lot" that I have spent the last 2 hours spannering and have re-fitted the standard exhaust. Sadly, I kind of like it. I like the looks of the decoration that masquerades as an end can (it does nothing except tidy up the looks) but it is, in all honesty, just a few Db too quiet for a Ducati. I'm going to resume the quest for a quieter system, maybe on that accepts the standard can but is a little more fruity without being silly
