"Oil is up 15% in 2012 and while current prices are well off the record high of $147 seen in 2008"

Which proves how much the government is ripping us off seeing as how fuel prices are now MUCH higher than they were when oil was at it's peak in 2008 :frown:

I think the oil companies pay their workers too much. Have you seen the type of cars they drive...? :tongueout:

I work for my own company brother and the oil companies pay an agency more money for me to pay myself an extortionate divdend whilst keeping my tax down.:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

The government designed the system, I'm just screwing it.:lol::lol:

:tongueout:

It's not extortionate BTW, I pay 20% corporation tax, a flat rate of 12.5% VAT and myself a wage then a dividend with the leftovers once bills and expenses are paid. Only started working like this last year and it's working out ok.

Yeah, I know but my I have asked my accountant and he didn't seem phased.

I was concerned about that so we'll see.

well bear in mind it would be yerself not the accountant that will get screwed...HMRC has declared that paying Divi's by the month is disguised salary...not worth the hassle.

I been doing this contracting lark since 1988, always best to be honest with the tax men

Cheers Niv. Only been earning since July so if they make an issue then I'll have 9 more months to top up the tax pot before I settle the bill with them. So we'll see.

I never pay myself the same amount anyway as I know that flags up as a wage.

If i could do something in my time off (2 weeks on/2 weeks off) then I could have a buffer and let the company money accrue until I have a nice pot there for a quarterly divvy then it would be a little easier to sort out. The problem is, I never had any coin behind me when I started so you're always on the back foot. I don't suppose I help myself buying big motors tho do I.:lol::lol:

Its not just the government . we buy oil in dollars . the pound buys around 25% less dollars now than in 2008, therefore the oil will cost us 25% more
