Lombardini 3 cyl. turbo-diesel, usually about 800cc, they use them in the HGV refrigerated trailers, very reliable long-lived lump

has a centrifugal clutch and a set of dishes that splay out,, the faster it spins,, some bob weights fling out and pull the plates together making the belts cercumferance larger... like putting a bigger front sprocket on and a smaller back one..

Fitting that engine would probably a cheaper bet than fixing a sprag clutch, the clutch basket , 4th gear and replacing a cylinder head with soft valve seats :tongueout:

GPWM!

Notice the beautiful countryside and (well surfaced) minor road. The bike's registration is 'Pfarrkirchen' - about 100 kms ENE of Munich. (sigh)

Happened to be looking at that yesterday. Smart 800cc turbo diesel. 130 mpg day-to day and top speed of 100mph. The bloke would build you one for just short of £10k

Intersesting to know how heavy it was. They all seem to be in the old 900 frame too...

Seems a bit pointless to me. Get a new Honda Vision 110cc scooter that does 122mpg for £1800, and then spend £8k on a sports bike or tourer to have fun

it actually sounds less rattly than the triumph lump :lol::lol::lol::lol:

they do a briggs and stratton lawnmower conversion for those with a smaller budget .....

Novel idea though ...... take something really nice, with a lovely sounding engine and lots of character etc etc ..... then make it really s!$%!!

Hitler actually was very attached to the place, he`d be up directing Operation Barbarossa from his Eastern Front HQ at Rastenburg in East Prussia when he`d say....and I quote...

"Heinrich, I und feeling very tired und vish to relax at mein favourite place, ze place kalled w!$%*, get ze Mercedes, I vish to go vanking schnell".

*Bear in mind that `der Fuhrer` would have pronounced it as `Vank`..39
