Quote: I went to BS on Thursday but earlier in the day as I was out in the evening.....superb new showroom and already very busy. Asked the staff when my bike was coming and they still couldn't say....then I spotted Bruno Tagliaferri sitting at his laptop in the corner.
"Good Morning!" say I, " I have had an Explorer on order since October, can you tell me when its coming please Bruno?"
"Well, Ive just seen 4 blue Launch editions dispatched for here today".....
"Um would one of them be mine then?????"
"Shall we phone the factory and find out sir?"
2 minutes later I am told that indeed it is and I can cancel next weekends test ride because I shall have my own new bike next Thursday - HUZZAH!!!!!
maximus vegetatorus: There's this post on Kevin Ash's forum.

What a nice man!
That's not you is it John?
Well that wasn't actually me, but I do know that mine is one of those
Just heard, my bike arrived at Staffordshire Triumph today.
It woudl appear that by this time next week, I will be officially an Explorer owner !!
As I was planning on a little overseas trip next weekend, it looks like I may well be the first person to take a privately owned UK registered Triumph Explorer to the continent !!
maximus vegetatorus: Brave man John. You may not like it after you've got it.
I very much doubt it tho
Now that Blizzard has confirmed that apart from those few differences he mentions, that it'll be much the same as the Hurricane, I can't see there being much of a problem
I used BS bikes for years and they were always as sound as a pound with me, and no cracks about being invited to the Christmas do due to the number of bikes I got off them.
Always found them friendly, helpful and informative.
How odd that they seem to go from one extreme to the other.
I had a reason to call them the other week and they called back with the answers I wanted very promptly, delivering the usual service I have always recieved from them

Maybe they just didn't like me.
When I was there they were friendly and helpful. They lent me a bike etc.
I gave Staffordshire Triumph some negative feedback in the Triumph new bike survey, after they dropped my bike uncrating it, not supplying the top box as promised (Mr Triumph's fault) and fitting the wrong number plate. Which resulted in having the weirdest conversation I have ever had!
I dropped my bike off last night for its 500 miles service and they gave me a Speed Triple loaner bike to get home and back. I live about 10 miles away. Asked the service guy how do I know how much fuel is in it and he says it has a yellow reserve light which means 30 miles left. It transpires he should have told me that when I return it, make sure the yellow light is off. I gets about 10 yards and the light is on. Had it just come on or been on awhile? I don't know. Gets call today to say bike ready. Before I leave checks to see how much fuel is in the bike and I can hear it sloshing but puts a litre or so in out of my jerry-can I use to fill up my lawn mower. Bimbles back; yellow reserve light is on, and as I walk in the girl who sold me the bike appears to be having her lunch with her colleagues, we make brief eye contact and a brief smile and I go to see the service man. Spend 20 or so mins sorting stuff out. Gets on bike and comes home.
Gets a call at 15:00 today from "Bob from Staffordshire Triumph" asking me about the service I had received today and then asks about my survey feedback. I was on another call so agreed to speak later. This is where it starts to get weird!
We speak at 16:30 which results in him accusing me of not putting petrol in the loan bike, ignoring his sales girl and why not supplying the top box is his fault! I asked him who he was and he said he pays the bills. Took a couple of attempts for him to admit he is the owner! The conversation gets more and more heated and I end up swearing ( something I am not proud of) and apologising. It was like being spoken to by a school teacher who was trying to get me to admit it was all my fault. He finishes off by saying they are a friendly lot and implying he wont hold the negative feedback against me! I ended up in saying, don't worry about it as he wont' see me or my bike again! End result, the clock they gave me is in the bin and the t-shirt will be given back to them.
So it looks like I will taking it Bill Smiths in future.

He rides 10 yards and the fuel warning light comes on? Boooo Hoooo So why doesn't he pop back in and tell them the fuel light is on? Media File

FFS ...... Oooo you wouldn't want to put anymore fuel back in the bike than you have used Media File
Kin ell ..... what a whinging twat. I'm sure Bill Smith's in Chester can't wait for him to become a customer
Sounds a tad harsh. All i really require is that when the s!$% hits the fan, that the dealer, and factory, is there for me. My first gen Speed Triple went in for a service at Streetbike, when they were back in sunny Dudley. It was up on a scissor lift for some work. The control valve on the ram went pop, the lift dropped and stopped and the bike did a triple salco and landed on the tank. Fortunately, they were competing in the Speed Triple challenge at the time, so i had a brand new tank, clip on and various other bent bits and bobs replaced there and then. i do weep for all those who have to work with the general public as for every one good hassle free transaction, there must be a hundred that make you want to reach for a claw hammer..
I have sent Staffordshire Triumph a couple of emails recently - none of which were answered. Woods in Abergele responded within the hour. Looks like at least one dealership wants my custom.

They are the only dealership I would consider using.
