Having just replaced the chain on my son's Honda CBR1000RR and my Daytona 675, I can thoroughly recommend the DID Chain Tool. While it is undoubtedly the most expensive of the bunch, you get an excellent professional tool for your money. Well designed, it works almost intuitively. I paid 125 USD for my DID tool before the lower priced copy came out. It is identical to the DID, and the parts are interchangeable. Oh well. Good things come to those who wait. I hate waiting!

I paid $40 and the shop installed it and adjusted it. $85 saved in my pocket

As far as possible, I like to do all my own maintenance; hence, while the original DID tool is expensive (at least locally here in South Africa), over the long term I get to save money by buying the chain/sprockets when they come on special (price), plus the professional tool (which is manufactured from forged steel) is good for a very long time. One note however : I never employ the chain cut procedure utilized in the Youtube vid. I have read too many horror stories of sheared pins! I simply use an angle grinder on the rivet heads and a small chisel to dislodge the link plate. It works like a charm. __________________ Deano Mae fy hofrenfad yn llawn llyswennod My skeertuig is vol palings

I've got a Motrax one (I think) Works perfectly well on 530 chain , but I'm low on the bits that push out the chain link now

Would agree the DID one works well (I too bought it before the copy came out). Riggsy - you can make it easier on the tool by using a small grinder on the rivet first.

I use my small angle grinder. While one has to be a little careful, it does take away the stress from the bit. __________________ Deano Mae fy hofrenfad yn llawn llyswennod My skeertuig is vol palings

I had a DID tool. The inner pin broke last time I used it to remove an old chain. Was good for fitting chains. But I'll stick with the ankle grinder in future for taking off
