After today's onslaught of NWS threads, many of which didn't even raise an eyebrow this time yesterday .... how do we know BEFORE we open them which are the REALLY NWS threads and which are the milder threads that wouldn't upset anyone with an ounce of sense ? For instance, 'show your bike injuries' isn't marked as NWS ... yet could potentially offend more than a girl in a swimsuit.

Genie ... bottle .... freedom ? :tongueout::tongueout:

This site does rely on the sensibility & suitability of the members to maintain a certain level of "sans Smut" as a lot of us use the site from work based PC's during the day.

Basically it's down to the poster to register a post as NWS.

Our Mods work too, so sometimes they cannot react quickly enough to guarantee irresponsible posters do not infect the "arms" with NWS material.

I propose that repeated offenders be warned, and then possibly banned. This, if not dealt with, could easily lead to a member losing his/her job!

CAWT Riggsy ... but my point was if the NWS flag is used too indiscriminately then the result might be very few people using the Arms at all during the day because they won't dare open any of the threads.

Maybe a traffic light system would give a better idea of a thread's content .... I dunno, I didn't start the clean-up, but we don't wanna end up like like that other forum do we ?? :tongueout:

CAWT:thumbup:
the site has a no nudity policy for avatars and a rider stating that pics or images of a sexually explicit nature are forbidden...
you're all supposed to be (reasonably) responsible adults.... so if you want a pair of tits in the post/thread mark them NWS

DL.... folks on here have trouble operating a simple NWS button.... there are a few that would go into meltdown at the thought of multiple choice buttons...:tongueout:

NWS is supposed to cover content that might get you into trouble in a normal office. Open wounds on legs is unlikely to get you in trouble (wince maybe) whilst items of an adult nature are.

When I'm at work, I do occasionally peek in here.
I won't click on anything flagged NWS.

To date, I'd say most members have not abused the system. I've only once crashed into something I'd rather my employers didn't see.

Overall, the policy of "self regulation" seems to work:thumbup:

It does need monitoring though:smile:

But, surely thats preferable to the alternative:kiss::thumbup:

Yes, I do have pc monitors at work. Big brother and all that. As homer says they won't pick me up on the type of stuff I look at . Unless words like, sex. Porn ,or f!$%. Are used. But I never open anything that says nws just Incase . So I think if your using a works laptop. It's simple. Don't open anything from Viking.:tongueout:
