Hi recently purchased t595 Daytona on a P reg, had mot in October 2011 & was in use but battery flat when I bought it. Charged battery , clutch in, neutral & side stand up- can hear what sounds like the fuel pump/servo for a couple of seconds then the starter motor sounds fine but bike does not start. have asked both local bike garages but they don't want to look at it. Should I change plugs, petrol ? battery seems to be eager enough? The bike has a little petrol leak-having read through the board and checking there are outstanding recalls i suspect the tank couplings. its -2 c in my garage right now so anything that will get me started would be appreciated. start with the basics, check that fuel is coming out the injectors and if you have spark also get yourself an obd2 cable and plug into the ecu and check for fault codes
Mine stranded me one day a half mile from my house. During diagnostics I could hear the fuel pump running, it cranked over normally and everything appeared normal but it wouldn't start. After chasing electrical issues for three days to no avail, I pulled the fuel pump assembly. One of the hoses had popped off! There was a recall for this, mine had the service performed but the tech apparently didn't tighten the clamps sufficiently.
Be careful cranking for extended periods...they don't like it. Also, don't twist the throttle at all while trying to start or for the first 30 seconds after it's running.
If your fuel leak is only a dribble it's probably the o-ring. I can't keep seals in mine since the ethanol mandate. Viton is your best defense.
Happened to mine - same age and model last year. Spent ages trying to sort it, removed the pump but the pipes were all attached did all the relays etc and do you not what it was? One of the pipes on the pump to filter had collapsed inside, effectively blocking the flow.
Bought some new high pressure hose from halfords, removed petrol tank, placed on side and took the bolts out and removed pump and filter assembly - if the tank only as a bit of fuel in it wont leak - fitted the hoses and put it all back together. Started straight away. Good Luck

If you want a second pair of eyes to take a look I work in Bootle and I'd be happy to pop over.
