On my Thunderbird 1600 ,when the tank is removed during maintenance the quick release fuel pipe coupling has to be opened.

It has now started leaking fuel all over the top of the engine.

I know other models have had this problem but has anyone else had it on a Thunderbird?

I have ordered a new fuel line , £129 but wonder if it might become a recall issue as the coupling has gone all floppy.

How many times should a quick release coupling be capable of being opened and closed before it starts to leak?

The coupling shouldn't be at all floppy

Tim - the newer bikes have completely different couplings that are a lot harder to catch the o-rings on.

IIRC the connector on your bike is a single large connector onto a metal pipe under the tank

Speak to your dealer about a warranty or goodwill claim
