whats the route you lot are taking from Finchingfield to Bury/Thetford. may be able to catch up with yous on part of the run up to wells maybee. have to run it past the enemy though Copdock on sunday i will be in the stevenage and district marque.tea and coffee on tap for a small donation. see you there
and I appreciate you doing a route coz I'm crap, I tend to wander this way and that way and ooh this road looks fun and then it's all, oh crap where am I? oh well I'll go this way and oh I know where I am now
I posted a link that looks fine my end - so why would I even think it had screwed anyone's else view up?
Sort your own route out then
John I was being deliberately facetious - I've barely been on here this week I've been so busy with work and am bloody knackered and therefore a bit grumpy. No probs with the route but only Saturday morning looks like being any good.
as per my other post, I can make it, although thanks to the local council (long story) taking money out of my account that they shouldn't have, a shorter route will be of enormous help
I suggest going via Bury St Edmunds and then the coast with appropriate fuel stops on route and then still aim to end up at Bawdsey?
Hi chaps, maybe a route Finchingfield, Bury St Edmunds, Lowestoft and/or Southwold (poss lunch at either), a cake stop somewhere near Harwich/Felixstow that Ratboy knows about? 9.00am at Finchingfield is do-able for me, the idea of 7.00am is out of the question as it's already an hours ride from here to Finchingfield and I do need some beauty sleep.
Although if it continues to rain as it is now the only cake stop I'll be having is in the lounge in front of the telly.
Ratboy1050: Sounds like a plan, Andy we'll raise a slice of cake to you...
Obee, that better timing?
SK, Vlad and Obee 8am at Sea Pets (Larry, 7.50 at mine or 8am at Sea Pets)
We will have to be prompt to get to Finchingfield.
Bury St Edmunds for 10.45? I will pm Super T
As per our conversation earlier I'll check my exhaust mount first thing in the morning and see what I can do - if it's looking dodgy I won't risk 150 miles with a possibility of losing the mounting bolt or worse the entire new pipe. Here's hoping for clear skies and hot tyres - if you don't hear from me John assume I'll be at Seapets at 0800.
Well - I waited having only had texts from Obee and DD, until 08:15, then had to hightail it to Finchingfield to meet with KK.
Unfortunately, he couldn't go on further and so it was left to me and Super T to meet up in Bury and go onto Southwold in the brilliant (and warm) sunshine to enjoy some fantastic chips (thanks Nige ) and a lovely ride back, including a swap of bikes for the ride ont he outskirts of Ipswich!
Got my pipe remounted by 11.00 and was then ready to go - spoke to Ratster in the afternoon but I'd missed the boat by then - never mind next time then. Was desperate to get out so I went down to Felixstowe Ferry and had a cuppa and cake on me tod. The new pipe sounded indescribably good and such an improvement the way the motor runs now.
thoroughly enjoyable ride out john.was hoping to meet more than 1 out of 7 but hey theyre saving their petrol for copdock...ill be sleeping off nights and i always sleep well when its pissing down outsidehope ya enjoyed the blast on the old 595.hopefully plenty of sunny days left before i fack orf to sunnier climates.will have to sort another day out soon.
Bloody bike and pillion seat parted company somewhere between home and colly Funny thing is that this was one of the only times SK has taken lead so it was bloody lucky as I'd hate to think what could have happened if she'd been following. Well thats definitely my season over while i source a replacement.
Got our hopes up for a second when a grey ST went past just after we arrived
vladd top tip pice of rip cord attached to seat or seat hump, keeps the little buggers where they should be, or check it twice to ensure its fitted correctly
Thats what is so annoying. In know its prone to coming up so check it before every ride and it was fine but hit some bumps in the road on the way which I should have remembered is enough to pop the latch The no. of times I've arrived home from work, lifted my tailpack and the seat has come off with it just isn't funny.
