fitted motrax grips, v nice too. washed, polished, wd40'd the wheels, celebration beer... and then went to fit new ex pipe, snapped the bolt on the exhaust clamp ring, got another beer.. worried about how to get to work monday morning, had dinner, drank beer... spent 3 hours sawing/filing/bending a new clamp, drank beer.. burped loudly, and surveyed my scrapheap challenge handywork, smug in the knowledge that my 70,000 bike would get me to work in the morning.
Got it back on the road after a 3 month lay up. Had the electrics temporarily repaired to keep it legal. Had the factory agree to full warranty repairs. Had a pair of Supermaxx Diamonds fitted.
Rode it to Salem , and back, 655 mile round trip ( went the long scenic way round, to get there) ran a bit hot at times ( was bloody hot out, hit 224F at some points, 'till the fan kicked in) but she ran well...........
Went for a nice drive with my mates. Were out of electrical power close to a nice coffe shop..perfect One of my mates gave me a push. I went home and docked it at the charger. Media File

Rode me bike, renamed Dirty Louise, to the BMW garage to go and have a go on a SS100RR. That thing is SCARY! Rode it on a B-road, did 120mph on 2nd gear, had to short shift in 3rd and never went any higher, didn't like the experience, too aseptic, useless on a road, no smiles at all. Then got back on my bike, rode the same B-road, plenty of smiles, plenty of throttle, wheelies, and felt like a champion after that 193 bhp beast had killed my self esteem.

So it's a bit like a 'Blade then? PS. I think you'll find it's a S1000RR - and they've been having gearbox problems.

Must have just missed you if it was NOG that you went to?
Me, Salty & Mark were there yesterday afternoon
Hi Paul, I was there at 9 AM. You lads shall text me when you're around, I live just 3 miles down the road from NOG. Did you do to have a go at that missile on 2 wheels?
Cleaned it for its winter hibernation (even though it had only been ridden once since a 20 hour cleaning session after getting covered in s!$% riding home from blackpool in torrential rain).
Found a big deep stone chip (right through to the metal) in the rim of the freshly powdercoated front wheel that must've happened on my last ride. Pissed off now. Well, more pissed off.
Unlocking it to finish putting it back together. I always always take the locks off in the same order. Rear disclock, front disclock, then the two chains. For some reason tonight I didn't take off the front disclock. Took it off paddock stand, rolled it backwards and crack, one knackered mudguard.
Wonder what ridiculous price one of those is going to cost me? Assuming I can still get one in the right colour, I've heard of people having problems getting gloss orange panels and the colour not matching. Really f!$%ing pissed off now, and properly angry with myself.

Two disclocks - two chains! FFS - where do you live!!! Jokes apart, though, I've nearly done it myself a few times - despite having bright yellow 'telltale' cords!
I was hoping it'd be about that, thought it might be a fair bit more. Mine's blazing orange. They're only hairline cracks, you can only see them if you know they're there, but I don't want a split mudguard on a nearly new 8 grand bike, I've spent enough time riding a tatty old shed with knackered plastics. Really f!$%ing angry with myself for doing it, I've been using disclocks nearly 20 years and never once forgotten to take one off.

All summer I've been meaning to get a good ground anchor bolted down (I've got three of the f!$%ing things) and buy one of those serious f!$% off Almax chains, so I can just have one chain through the swingarm (where the intermediate pipe used to be) and the disclocks, but I've not got round to it. I did have a third chain on it looped through the swingarm and back wheel, but noticed the fabric cover was rubbing in the paint.
