Today I fitted Evotech Performance oil cooler & radiator guards.
The most expensive of the guards but a quality piece of kit & a perfect fit.

Lou Jones:
Tried out my new Black Widow sssa rear-wheel stand...works great, now I don't have to stand out on the street, waiting for some poor sod to come by and recruit 'em to either push the bike, or hold the chain lube can while I push....woohoooo!!:thumbup:

Can still just use a car jack :-

Media File

Just leave bike on side stand, Wrap cloth around front brake grip to keep brake on (eg. glove over bar and lever to keep on), front wheel to left, then chock up under lower link.

EDIT: any scissor jack will do..not just the unusual single sided one in the pic. Handy to know that you can borrow someones car jack when you're a long way from home so can lube the chain.

Finally got to the rear hub (after 60 thou kays), removed to find bearings in great nick.

Pondered what to do about the massive drainage hole underneath the SSSA that's been letting in water and sand over the years. Never knew it was there.

Minimised the potential for ingress of crud. Fortunately there is no salt on the roads here.

(bugger..looking at those pics..reminds me that I forgot to remove some of that dirt up front..out with the circlip pliers again...)

Yup, smooth as silk. When I bought this particular Daytona, I had to elongate the two end holes of the cowl ever so slightly, so's their screws would align without effort - that was two years or so ago. Since then, the tank's been off a few times for routine servicing, replacement of fuel connectors etc - no problem!

Disassembled the instruments and finally got to the 2 dead bulbs that I hadn't bothered changing in 10 years (found the speedo useless anyway compared with a digital readout assisted by LED light at night).

Whilst still enthusiastic, stripped off the rubber surrounds (of each clock component) and used some rubber rejuvenation to remove brown crud.

Nice and black again now

Now to source a couple of bulbs (T10 and T6.5) 1.7W. (FYI, they take 4 x T10 and 1 of T6.5). Steering well clear of the Triumph parts counter for these.

2 bulbs in 10 years ain't bad...think I've only ever replaced maybe one brake/tail light bulb too.

Wise to do both (seals) at that distance. Complete dismantle is the best way to clean the abrasive crud out of the forks.
