rattycrawldaddy: got out to go to work and discovered the ...second low beam was out...so brights only....i've heard it's 4 hours t change out the head lights.....is that true On the Tona 1200
Only if you're a complete numpty Seriously, tho', it's nosecone off job - which means mirrors off and (ideally) windscreen out first - then the nosecone. Drop the headlamp assembly - underneath bolt and each side bolt off - electrical connectors, (and careful with the alarm diode if you've got one) and you're there. Does take time, depends on how practised you are and whether you encounter stuck fasteners. I always use top brand bulbs - they tend not to fail so often - in that context - when did you last check the voltage regulator output level? Have fun!

Rode it to the Ponderosa for a brew and then headed down to Llangollen, out to the A5 before coming back via St Martin's, Ellesmere, Whitchurch, Chester (Bill Smiths for a nosey) and home.
First rideout for a couple of weeks and really enjoyed it
Decided that I'd record the racing and watch it later and as the weather was luurverly I took it for a spin through some of Sussex's best roads down to Goodwood Aero Club cafe on the motor circuit. http://www.goodwood.co.uk/eating-and-dri...
Nice cuppa and some home made fruit cake then had a nice run back home. By the way - the Dunlop Roadsmarts are performing well, very impressed with them so far.
Finally got the damned rh engine bolt and slider on...what a pain in the ass. Glued up the fender extender, cleaned the hell outta the bike while it's apart, awaiting MORE fooking fuel line connectors which should be here tomorrow then put on shortly after delivery, then on the road!!
Called the painter about the flyscreen, still not done, but no hurry for either of us. He's retired, and I'm lazy, so it works out OK.
Just road tested the Daytona after a major brake overhaul. Rear caliper strip and rebuild. New HEL brake lines front and rear. New 5/8 dia front master cylinder. Soggy brakes have dissapeared !!!!
Bike is a bit scary until the new EBC pads bed in. Try that tomorrow as it is raining now.

Weird - I must be one of the few daytona owners who doesn't have an issue with its brakes or ever have done - was out the other day and they were mind bendingly fierce. Nice bike by the way.

No offence intended or anything, but I would never describe my Daytona's brakes as fierce. Mebbe yours have been uprated, but I'd only describe mine as adequate. Compared to other bikes they were perhaps good enough in their day, but modern stoppers are a world apart. Bottom line - if they work for you and you're happy with them, that's what counts.
Mine got moved out of the way and I went out on the Duke. With a bit of luck the Daytona will get a turn tomorrow.
Ref the EBC brake pads - put some in the front of the wife's Honda FMX650 a couple of weeks ago. They felt pretty numb and in effective untill she'd covered 150 or so miles.
Nearly dropped it on the drive, Full tank of fuel and short legs dont mix, lost my balance went over. got wedged between wall and bike. Managed to hold its weight an inch from the floor, Said to my self this is costly if i let go, gave it everything I had lifted it with one arm got a knee under it then the other knee under it, that was me Fuxxked no energy left. called to the wife at 630am she woke and lifted it off me. Im still exhausted now. bruised knees and thank fully not a mark on my bike.
It's looking good in the forecast, but would you want to accompany someone who lives near Skatesville? You should come on a Frettour, I'm doing another Northern France one soon (ish)
I changed oil and filter!! But now it won't f!$%ing start!! WTF?? Any ideas? While it's cranking the dash keeps flashing, like it does when it's first started, but it won't fire...
Took the Tona to Rockingham for a Track Day, rained all morning & that place is as slippery as an eel on ice skates! Rode round as steady as I could, had a few moments when both wheels slid on corners & the rear lit up a few times. The rain stopped at lunchtime & the last 2 sessions were dry, what a difference, had a big smile on my face & nicely ragged tyres.

All the fuses are fine....and I just spoke with two more service guys at Triumph dealers and they're saying to start with charging the battery..and again, Thanks for the help!

Skatesville hmm, my geography is not great I guessed USA? France sounds good might not be able to get leave but you never know, keep in touch
Not necessarily today, but yesterday I went to fuel the bike, and didn't realize til I'd nearly filled the tank that I was putting in the cheap s!$%, 87 octane, not the usual 89 the Triumph book sez to use. Is one tankful of this stuff going to do anything to the bike? Should I maybe drain it and put it in the lawnmower, or is it OK to use just the one time? I don't notice anything different about how it runs....yet.
