satanskittens: Put the new battery back in it's box
Why? What did it fail on?
satanskittens suffolk/essex sarnie, United Kingdom Posts: 3,576 Speed Four 05 May 2011 18:14
Coz what I thought would happen, did. My rad went to be welded - i broke it - the welder had an accident so had to buy me a new one, waited all week to get a phonecall this morning saying the new one was here, only for hubby to collect it after work and point out they'd been sent a TT600 rad instead of an S4 one, they are different So no point putting new battery on bike yet

Haven't seen them Phill, but there are those 1 way valve thingy-ma-jobbies that I may well have to invest in. Thought I had some lever resistance earlier tonight, but I must have imagined it. Keep calm & carry on bleedin'.
Mark Cheshire, United Kingdom Premier Member Posts: 1,932 Speed Triple 955i (02-04) 06 May 2011 06:51
Fired it up from stone cold and it ran fine... rode it to work and found it really weird after flying around on Gemma's SV650 for a couple of weeks! Back to the bum up, head down position!

That sounds complicated
Chococat Hurt, sad, angry, again, United Kingdom Premier Member Posts: 32,671 Street Triple R 06 May 2011 08:57
It is, but it was more complicated before the ex got added on the front...
Phill Pig Hill, United Kingdom Posts: 20,134 Daytona T595 06 May 2011 08:58
Erm...Congrats?
Chococat Hurt, sad, angry, again, United Kingdom Premier Member Posts: 32,671 Street Triple R 06 May 2011 09:31
No, I definitely preferred the situation before the ex title got added, as difficult and complicated as it was.

Done bleedin' bleedin', finally have brake lever resistance! Just got to pick up new pads & fit them now. Hopefully out on Sunday.
Android Dereham, Norfolk, United Kingdom Posts: 3,098 Daytona T595 06 May 2011 21:53
You've done the job back to front Skybone . If you have bled the brakes with worn pads, when the new ones go in there will be an excess of fluid. Be careful.

Ordered a lowboy tailtidy like Blizzard's (but with brackets for mini indicators rather than OE).

Made me Daytona right again after it`s MOT. Then went for a glorious hoon through the countryside. Smelt fresh cut grass for the first time this summer

Nice one Dan - there's nothing like the smell of fresh grass when out on the bike.

were you holding it too tight again mate i'm trying to decide if i can be arse to do a colour change on my bike, i think i'm just going to get them redone in yellow again, but give it the modern look with a pearl white stripe down the middle like the triumph specials
Phill Pig Hill, United Kingdom Posts: 20,134 Daytona T595 08 May 2011 08:22
Tim, if you get a white stripe put on with yellow, then I suggest getting a black or dark out line for the white stripe, otherwise it will look s!$%, imho.

Fitted the adjustable clutch lever from a ST1050 and repositioned the front mudguard which was too close to the tyre. She gets a nice new pair of Diablo Corsa IIIs tomorrow then off to France for the MotoGP on Thursday evening

Went out for a spin in the pishing doon rain on old pads, to see if brakes were up to scratch after the last few days of pratting about. Got home, had a brew, washed the bike, fitted the new EBC HH pads. Rode it up & down the street and what a difference. Took it out before, and those HH pads don't half make a difference!

Having ridden it a bit now, do you notice the longer wheelbase compared to the shorter swingarm on your old one?
