bought quite a few things today for the daytona bought new vacume hose for the iacv nice red colour not that it will ever be seen new brake discs wavey ones to new billet indicators front and rear race lines red coloured new windscreen bolts oh and an obd cable for tune ecu so spent alot of cash next month is the paint ordering and get it sprayed for free
alx Sydney, Australia Posts: 2,266 Daytona 955i (99-01) 05 Apr 2011 01:33
Phill: How often should the iacv hoses get changed?
Don't change them for the same OEM units..that'll just go brittle and leak again over an extended time and cause you to chase all sorts of geese trying to track down the problem. Silicone hose (6mm), sealant and heatshrink tubing.. replace the rubbery ends. Red hose = faster.

Phil, I've just swapped the orginal set out, after 8 years. I guess it depends on when your bike starts showing symptoms of them failing. My bike started playing up two years but I could'nt figure out why - stalling when slowing down / chagning down at low revs.It also sounded slightly uneven on tick over I had a dealer look for the problem (which they could'nt find) down load the latest program and balance the injectors, problem seemed to go away. When it started to play up again last spring, I had Bulldog's service the bike and the problem seemed to go away again. It was'nt until I read a thread on here that I put two & two together TR

Blizzard: Quote: Ordered them to put fully synthetic oil instead of the semi the were planning to.
Just check my handbook and it say fully or semi-synth as long as it meets the standard
Do you reckon I was over zealous?
duke63: Semi synth is fine especially on a new engine. Fully synth can be a bit of overkill in some cases.
As Fidel Castro once said, "Condemn me,it doesn't matter, History will acquit me". The bike seems to run OK.

Rode it to Betws-y-coed and back Still not quite right when starting from cold and the tickover is a little low, but i'll get it booked in for valve clearances and throttle body balancing soon. Superb when warm

put in 1/3 can o0f " Sea Foam"..absolutly an awsome product...also some "Marvel Mystery oil"...nearly pure parrifin..thin and red in colour... you put this in your gas or oil if NOT SYNTH TYPE..... this product is what is used by the gallons in the WW II racing aircraft !!!!!!

Don't the T595's have related potential issues with ball check-valves and junk in the idle system as well?

Rode my 1050 to the first Plymouth bike night of 2011. Took my 13yr old daughter with me and she had her picture taken by the local paper sat on my bike. Nice to see Triumphs there both old and new. A well attended night in aid of Help the Heros.

After being abroad for quite a few days, obviously not riding her, I went to fire her up, then was too tempted so started riding her around the basement (no helmet, or any other protective stuff ) as all the cars littering it were gone after 5 PM: Felt like a 3 year old with his new kiddy-bike.

I live in an apartment complex, so the basement is huge, up to 30 cars... and only 1 bike
