The purple wire connecting the switch/horn to the alarm blanking plug. It kept giving me a red herring with the voltmeter as I was getting a current through it but I bypassed it with some different wire and BEEP!!!!
I got to admit though, it frightened the bloody life out of me when it actually went off!!!
Taken Off to get motor out so far: To fix gear drum selector
Rear seat, front seat (had to put on the Corbin to see how good it looked), tank, bottom fairing, side fairings, air box, coolant drained, rad hoses off, oil cooler out, clutch cover off to remove clutch, oil filter in the bin (did not look in the filter which I should have), sump off to be put back on to aid with removal of hole engine. Battery out labels on fuel lines. Marked coils 1 to 3. Few more wires to mark and remove.
Anyting I should look out for before undoing the bolts to the motor/frame?
a_morti: Here's a very simple little thread for all the trivia you want to share, but may not quite deserve it's own thread. Try not to make it a discussion thread - if it's worth discussing, it's worth its own thread.
Today, I took the rear wheel off my T595 (shaped 955i) for the first time. Mainly to change the rear pads, as I noted they were low when I did my standard "new to me bike" check and clean up of all 3 calipers. It was such a pain to get in there with the wheel on, I thought I'd just pop it off, since I now have a 46mm socket, paddock stand and long breaker bar.
While about it, I also thought it a good idea to clean up all round there. Bit of a surprise, the inside of the swingarm is silver!
This actually belongs to the very first post, but I only just managed to get the picture uploaded...

Take the back ones out first, then move toward the front. Make sure you keep track of the spacer washers that will be on the clutch side bolts. Those motors are lined up on the left side of the frame for chain alignment. You'll probably have to gently pry the motor out of the frame once the bolts are out. Make sure it's supported well as the motor is front heavy and will tip off the jack if the jack is just under the oil pan.
Chain's finish has had it mate, but it still works well (scottoiler-type thingy) so I am not about to flash @£100 at it when it still wants money at the dealers for a tune-up, fork oil probably wants swapping, I still don't have a seat hump, etc etc.
I have a yellow bike And a girlfriend who insists on sitting on the bike quite often
Is there a drain plug on these forks? I will have them out anyway at the weekend to do the steering bearings but frankly I am getting bored of spending money on the bike right now.
Rode it to work, then swapped bikes with a friend for the evening. It began raining before I got off, and I had to ride home on his 2002 VFR in the pouring rain!
