Peppe: The dealer question: it's Hughuenden M40, I know, I know, and I do agree, but it's the closest to my house and it would have cost me the same anywhere else.
You know, you know, what?
all that's been said in this forum, not always flattering
same as ive done everyday this week, ridden it to work in all weathers. Difference today was some knob pulled out on me from a junction. He made no attempt whatsoever to look in either direction or even slow down, just came straight out. Missed me by inches
I did think about going after him but then I thought by the time I could turn around he would be gone. Half the time these people couldn't give a s!$% anyway
Taking the airbox of my T595 to change the IACV hoses but I have'nt got an allen key long enough to take the front bolt out, standing looking at it with a large hammer in my hand

Yeah, nice touch that one, isn't it. It'll be a torx fastener if it's got the OE screw in. I used a torx bit on the end of a long socket extension.
Andy: They look to have made a good job of those Rob
Thanks Andy. The company was SL Powdercoating in Plymouth. Took them in Monday morning and collected them today. Excellent service and he loves doing these little jobs for bikers
Paul 'the' Bastard: I'm surprised you didn't have the brake lever, gear lever and footrests done at the same time Rob?
Where do you stop though Paul? I dont mind a bit of silver here and there but wanted those bits done as they suffer from corrosion very quickly. Ive never had anything powdercoated before so wasnt sure what would and wouldnt work either. Ive done a similar job to the new 2011 speed triple.
I'm stuck at work looking outta the office window at the nice weather thinking today would have been a nice day to clean all the crud of the RS and service it ready for its MOT
took the valve cover off to measure clearances and found out why it been running like a bag off s**t. Inlet clearances that couldn't get smallest feeler guage of 0.05mm into.

You don't stop, lol. I've got receipts for a thousand quid of powdercoat on one bike, lol. And it's never even been ridden. Or even finished... If it doesn't move for more than 10 minutes and hasn't got fur or ears then you powdercoat it.
You've really never had anything powdercoated? Wow, that's like never having had shoes or bread...

I've spent a lot of money on mods before and then traded them off. I've decided to save my money and use it for all my new trade ups.
Thoroughly cleaned the bike and then went our for a ride. 15 minutes later the heavens opened and I was riding in a downpour. Decided to carry on and then down came the second wave of heavy rain. Got home and the bike is s!$% high in dirt again...sigh

The bike with the ridiculous amount of powdercoat on (basically the whole bike, right down to head, barrels and crankcases is never for sale. If it ever gets finished it'll only ever do the odd few miles on perfect sunny days to show it off, if it ever turns a wheel at all (I'd be tempted to keep it just as an ornament), but it's never for sale. Nobody would ever offer me the kind of money that would tempt me to part with it.
