Replaced the speedo drive in the 'Tona, then took it out for a "quick" test.

Got home after 120 miles. Ha, a quick lap of Wiltshire just to make sure the speedo works again:thumbup:

I bumped into mine getting a chair out of the garage and have been bleeding for the last 2 hours. How can you cut yourself on the edge of an indicator lens when it's attached to the bike?

Tried to make up a tool to loosen the headstock nut

why would you want to loosen it?
wont that make the steering a bit odd?

i made one... years ago.

measured the distance between the pins,
and drilled and tapped a piece of ground flat stock on a calculated pcd,
then turned down some 6mm high tensile allen bolts,
welded a m10 bolt in the middle so i could use the torque wrench,
and undid mine.

Option 1/.
all you need is a bridgeport mill with digi readouts,
tap and tap wrench, tapping fluid,
a piece of steel hanging around the right size,
a colchester 2000 lathe,
varoius bolts and a welder,
a five year apprentiship is handy,
and a few hours.

Option 2/.
buy the tool from T.

Took it for a MOT. Had to swap the can first.

Currently waiting for news - the brakes haven't been the same since the Chemin Des Dames.

Cleaned the corrosion (not too much but enough powdery substance to fall in the fuel when filling) from the inside of the petrol cap, then bent the key shutting the cap:frown:

Generally cleaned the bike and fondled and licked the bits of it I really like:lol:

I`ve just been to a local car workshop to borrow their compressed air line to blow out my siezed brake pistons. I was lucky as it happens. The place was closed, but there was some bird there (relative of the owner) who started the compessor and let me help meself. I f!$%ed about all yesterday evening try to get those bastards out. It took about 20 seconds with the airline. Result

Changed the spark plugs. Srsly, what a pain in the ass, you end up taking almost the whole bike apart to get to them.

Never realised they have placcy tanks. Cool. How does that work out if you crash?

Steady FB, no blubbing lad.

Tis a thing of beauty for sure, a fine example.

You'll have no trouble selling that one, specially seeing as you managed to line up those numbers on the clock real nice - good job that. :smirk:

How many did they make in Pink? :tongueout:
